Sami Simkin was born and raised in Glenview, Illinois - a northern suburb of Chi-Town (Chicago that is) A live-wire from day one, her childhood was filled with commercials, ice skating and theater. Sami studied with renowned acting coach Jane Brody, was in Ben Vereen’s Musical troupe and appeared regularly at the Apple Tree Theater. Sami refined her acting skills by attending the Chicago Academy For The Arts four the four years of High School. During that time she performed monthly in plays and musical theater. Sami’s voice was big and her presence was so strong it attracted a Management Company that developed a plan with Sami and her Mom that led them to relocate to LA upon her Graduation.

The rest is history definitely in the process. After appearances on The Young & The Restless, several pilots and two national automobile commercials, Sami landed a recurring Guest Star role on the WB Network’s number highly rated - 7th Heaven. She played a misguided young temptress who sets her sights on Simon after extensive Internet chatting. Needless to say, the moral character of the series is gradually imposed upon Sami ("Sasha Simpson"). Sami lives in Westwood and enjoys the LA night life (even Karaoke) with the moderation of a "been there, done that" Midwestern girl who has seen all Chicago had to offer while growing up.Most recently Sami appeared on NYPD Blue. Her roots in Musical Theater have lead Sami to a production deal with an aggressive Independent Recording label. She is selecting material for her first CD which begins production this winter. She likely will always respond to the call of musical theater. Recently, Sami performed in a staged reading of a project written by her former High School teacher that has been sold to a major cable network. Her work along side celebrities and veterans has lead to her consideration for the TV role.

With her powerful but relaxed presence, her eye-riveting "look" and years of disciplined training, Sami Simkin has only one direction to go… UP! She loves entertaining, respects the wisdom of veteran actors and expects to grow her talent until it reaches into every American living room. Sami Simkin is here to stay!
